As a pro makeup artist based in Manhattan for over two decades, I saw the beauty industry changing right before my very eyes. Clients were reading a lot, becoming informed and were asking a ton of questions about product ingredients. When I set out to find high quality, well pigmented, long lasting products without toxins I was shocked that I couldn’t find any. Sure, there were brands out there, but nothing that could stand up to the camera or a busy executive’s long day of work. It was disappointing at first, but that is when the light bulb went off and Hush + Dotti was born. If you could go back to the beginning of the creation of your brand what would you do differently? I am happy that we started with skin care first. I wrote the recipes for all of our skin care myself based on lots of research and my experience in the beauty industry. Overall, customers were so impressed with how significantly their skin improved, that creating luxurious, clean makeup was the natural progression of our brand. Overall, it all unfolded as it was supposed to, so I wouldn’t change it given the chance. What is your most favorite product you have created and why? Whichever product I happen to be looking at, is my favorite product lol! I sincerely love them all. If I were pressed to pick just one – I would choose Dream Drops.
