- What inspired you to create your brand?
FUR started as a conversation between sisters. We were discussing exciting trends in beauty towards natural products and defining your own beauty, and away from prescribed standards. As we talked, we realized available body hair products were not in line with this movement – the ingredients were harsh, the packaging was unsophisticated, and they focused only on removal – hair as a problem. FUR is about taking care of the unique environment of body hair and skin with elevated, natural products – to treat it like your fur, which is what it is, not an embarrassing growth that must be removed.
- If you could go back to the beginning of the creation of your brand what would you do
differently? Not much to be honest!
- What advice do you have to offer for those entrepreneurs in the green beauty industry just starting out?
We would tell them to really appreciate what they do, and take pride in it. The green beauty industry is relatively young, but with environmental issues only growing more prevalent, green beauty couldn’t come sooner. While it may be easier to create a product with poorly sourced ingredients that harm the environment (and the customer’s skin!) green beauty products allow men and women the option to feel good in their skin while also being aware of their impact on the world and the earth’s environment.
- What is your most favorite product you have created and why?
Of course we love all of our products, but I’d have to say our hero product, Fur Oil, is a favorite because it was what started it all. Fur Oil is such a versatile lifesaver, working well on bumps, irritated skin, and hair on any part of your body. I love that because it’s so versatile, it’s a very inclusive product for anyone to try.
